Hammer Party

Susan Miller Tweedy, former owner of Lounge Ax, has been bravely posting her cancer story on Facebook. (I did this and eventually stopped.)

She is doing heavy chemo and radiation, now, and it reminds me of what I went through, and am currently avoiding by rollicking on boats and farms and such. But, I know the right choice is enduring the pain and fear of treatment. Cancer is boring. And, eventually, we need a break. But, then, it returns with a hammer party.

Anyway, Jeff Tweedy, her husband, is with her, and it makes me feel good to see them together, in the chemo ward. He was also in Uncle Tupelo, as you know, and, of course, Wilco. I respect them.

I wish my family had been so strong.

But, Jesus. Enough about cancer, right?

I also like his album about his wife, which he made with their son, called “Sukierae”. So, listen to it.
